Kitty Benfield MA, LPC, NCC

Kitty became Licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC, NCC) in 1998 and has over 46 years experience as a registered nurse.  The combination of these two backgrounds makes her unique and insightful to both the medical and mental health fields.  This is especially helpful when  determining possible causes for one's symptoms.

Kitty counsels children and adolescents ages 3-18 and adults ages 18 and over.  She uses a collaborative approach of various forms of therapy to develop tailored treatment approaches for each individual.  She is skilled at helping children and parents with challenges such as ADHD, ADD, and Trauma (PTSD) through Play Therapy and Christian Counseling.  She also works with individuals and families with grief work, overcoming domestic Violence, Bipolar, Depression, Marriage counseling, Dyadic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), substance abuse, and detoxification.

She graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University and completed her internship at Foothills Mental Health in Morganton NC and Lenoir NC.    She has worked professionally at Broughton Hospital in Morganton, NC and at the 5th General Army Hospital in Bad Constatt, Germany.
