Randy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) who sees clients from all over the state of North Carolina. A former secondary school educator, he earned a bachelor's degree in English in 1997 and a masters in Education in 1999, both from Florida State University. In 2014, he earned his second masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. He has worked in a variety of settings, from psychiatric hospitals to rehab facilities to community mental health agencies. He is the owner of Practical Counseling and Wellness Solutions, PLLC, manages a mental health blog, and is a frequent contributor to a variety of online magazines.

Randy works with individuals age 16 and up. He specializes in treating men's issues, substance abuse, behavioral addictions, work-related burnout, and mood issues such as anxiety and depression. Many of his clients are in healthcare, law enforcement, or are veterans. He favors solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapies that help empower clients and facilitate change.
